I agree on the Detective Comics, Dini's work has been refreshing and a great way to sit down and enjoy a story.

I may have jumped off the Mighty Avengers too early. I just did not like the title up to issue 8. Now you have me thinking about getting 9 and 10.

>Could the shift back towards satisfying, single-issue stories be happening right now?

Plus, of course, Detective Comics, where Paul Dini's been doing those done-in-one stories for a while.

And Booster Gold is paced a bit like that too - there's an underrunning arc, of course, but each issue is pretty much a self-contained story as well, and it certainly doesn't feel paced for the trade in the slightest.
