for people that are already into comics, i don't understand the confusion. sure, for the completely new reader, most of this stuff will go right over their heads. but for us, the comic faithful not being able to follow it? c'mon! it's not written in Greek.

have we become that lazy as a community?

I was very confused - by the end, I was sitting there reading, and just going 'huh?'

Tough but fair. I gave this a go and being no huge DC reader (not for lack of trying, sometimes) I found it near-impenetrable for the most part. As you say, in the long game it'll probably turn out good because hey, it's Morrison! But as you say, will the wider public still be reading by then? It felt like another chapter in DC's ongoing arc rather than the beginning of an "event" finale to anything...

I shared this comic with a friend and he had no idea what went on. I think largely because it is not very accessible to non-DC readers. But I think Morrison starts most of his story arcs slowly and then towards the end bombards the readers with awesomeness, so there is hope.

Also, J'onn died. :(
