It's from G&T's spoiler thread.

To be fair I haven't read it, but if the book simply disregards the character that he was before with no transition at all, it's not friendly to episodic storytelling.

"this is a Stark that’s keen to make amends" is that in book or is it your interpretation? I liked the Civil War Frontline Stark ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_War:_Front_Line#Issue_11 ) who intentionally made himself a villain to unite the heroes so his turning into the Downey, Jr. Stark makes sense but it would be better to show it happening.

I'm not sure where you've dug that one up from, but if it's me (on NTS somewhere?) I don't think the comment I make in the review is contradictory to that - what I was saying in the review is that the reason it doesn't bother me is that I've previously had no interest whatsoever in the character (unlike Julian, who has, and so is bothered by it) - for me, reading this series is basically like starting afresh with Iron Man. Obviously with something like Who, I *do* have an invested level of interest in it, so I'm more likely to take umbrage with inconsistency.

"Where we differ, though, is that I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with this approach."

"But I do think we’ve had precedent for this sort of decision. He had to make a snap decision of that type during the Time War. He’s been living with the guilt ever since. In TPOTW, he had a similar decision to make, and he turned it down. Why the change now?"
