Oops. Posted prematurely.

I wasn't blown away by the first issue and probably wont get #2. I think I'd have preffered it if they left her alone for a few years to give her a rethink. I thought that was kind of the point of her having been replaced.
It seems counterproductive to have a mediocre miniseries with her out so soon, when they could wait till someone has a really good idea for her.

I can see the point, he is a bit Fu Man Chu, but they have given the Doctor a motive at least, which does make a point about what a nasty piece of work the Winter Soldier was. Also, the man without a face is based on old Cap villain (I don't know what point I'm trying to make with that). Call me shallow, but my main feeling coming out of the issue was "It's nice to see Namor kick some arse." I don't remember them ever playing up to the fact that Rogers and he were teammates in the past, and I really like the way Brubaker deals with his relationship with Bucky.

I read the Elektra book, 'cause I do have a soft spot for the character after reading the good stories with her in.

>Yes... in my country we always understood things you Americans are simply unwilling to face...

If you're going to resort to the Fu Manchu cliche, there's a duty to do something original or interesting with it, instead of just trotting out the "inscrutible oriental" sterotype as Brubaker does.

I don't see any problem with the villain in Cap. He's Chinese; so what? There's nothing about him that's suggestive of broader characteristics of a race.
