Minor X-Men character? I thought of Gyrich as primarily an Avengers antagonist/annoyance, I remember reading a few old stories where he was their Government liaison and was demanding they sack or hire members and such.

It is odd to have a cover with the most flat-faced Beast I've ever seen and interior art with his longest face yet; I like both depictions but putting them together is a bit jarring.

I love Sanders' Beast design. The gulf between how he draws him in the issue and how Cassaday draws him on the cover seems rather wider than it should be, though. More evidence for Seb's theory of not letting other people draw Frank Quitely designs?

That aside, I'm not sure it trumped Phonogram, but it was damn good. And indeed, absolutely nothing like what I expected (which was something more Ellis-informed than Whedon-informed).
