Too serious about comics.

The Alternate Cover Comics Podcast – Episode 1 (July 2012)

In the grand tradition of your favourite adventure periodicals, we’ve relaunched their podcast with a new name, new numbering, and new core concept. To critical and commercial indifference.

If you were a previous subscriber to the Graphic Novel Book Club, please note that the feed in iTunes has changed. You’ll need to resubscribe here, or you can get the RSS feed directly here. We’ll also be embedding each episode right here on the site itself, as we have done below.

In this inaugural episode, we’ve got: a feature review of LoEG: Century 2009, a selection of capsule reviews, our Top 5 “Bad Ideas in Comics”, and a Dusting Off review of Kevin Smith and Joe Quesada’s Daredevil #1 from 1998.

(James would like to make it clear that he is now aware that Daredevil #1 was supposed to be #381, not #485, and that at one point he accidentally says that the “Heroes Reborn” comics were quite good, when he actually means “Heroes Return”. And Seb is now aware that David Bowie is not playing Aladdin Sane in the “Ashes to Ashes” video, as the album of that name was a full seven years previously. Any other mistakes are deliberate.)

Listen below, or via your favourite podcasting outlet – and do let us know what you think! And if you’re an iTunes user that fancies giving us a review, that would be splendid…
